Sail Away

This painting was inspired by my frequent travels to California’s Central Coast. During one of my visits to this beautiful area, I had the opportunity to go sailing on Monterey Bay. It was a cool, crisp and windy day, as is often the case on the Bay, causing the sea to come alive with colors that sparkled like gemstones. This painting is comprised of layer upon layer of phthalo blue, cyan and turquoise as it was my intention to impart a strong sense of motion and energy. The painting wraps around the 1.5” sides of the canvas making it ready to hang.
